- 2 russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder or to taste
- ½ teaspoon seasoned salt or to taste
Prep the Potatoes:
Scrub the potatoes and peel them if desired. Cut them into ¼-inch fries.
Soak the Fries:
Place the fries in a large bowl and fill it with cold water. Soak for at least 30 minutes.
Drain and Dry:
Drain the fries well and dab them dry with a kitchen towel.
Preheat Air Fryer:
Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).
Season the Fries:
Toss the potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, and seasoned salt to taste.
Cook the Fries:
Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes.
Shake or flip the potatoes and cook for an additional 6-8 minutes, or until crisp. Add additional salt to taste if desired.
- Thicker fries may require more cooking time, while thinner fries may need slightly less. Check on the fries a couple of minutes early to avoid overcooking, and add more time if needed.
- To make more fries, cook several smaller batches. Once ready to serve, add all the fries back to the air fryer basket and cook at 390°F (200°C) for 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Crisp up leftover air fryer French fries by placing them back into a preheated air fryer for about 3-5 minutes.
